Dear friends at the Air Force Art Museum

At Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany  between 1962 &1968  my late wife Samizu Matsuki painted at least 5 portraits of  pilots of the 49th Tactical Squadron - also of their wives, and  others. They were  good enough  they had official showings on base,  which may be documented in the base newsmedia from then. These were oil on canvas paintings,, though she also drew & did watercolor,   Can you help find them?

Samizu was then married to Staff Sgt Herman Berry, so her paintings may be  signed under her maiden name  Samizu Matsuki or her married name Samizu Berry - or even S. Berry.  (They married in Tokyo in 1961)  I believe she was also commissioned by the 49th's Officers Club to paint a portrait of a historic airman Major Bong.

It would be a wonderful thing if I was able to obtain photographs of any of her works from that time or even a  newsletter from the base noting her paintings   If there are none  in your  museum, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

My purpose is to add to her archive website www.samizu.com.  Samizu played a small but significant role in the evolution of realistic painting in the 1960s & early' 70s.  Photos of portraits she did at the  Spangdahlem air base would be very  helpful is showing her  skills.

Sincerely

Ron Huber
